Train-path prices for 2022 and 2023

In its decision from February 28, 2022, the BNetzA approved the fees for the train-path prices for 2023. Train-path usage fees will increase by 4.0% for long-distance transport, 2.3% for freight transport and 1.8% for local transport. The higher rates of dynamization in long-distance rail passenger transport and rail freight transport compared with previous years are due to the fact that, following an amendment to Section 13 of the General Railways Act (Allgemeines Eisenbahngesetz; AEG), other operating income from infrastructure connection contracts that no longer applies was factored into the train-path pricing system. DB Netz AG is expected to submit the fee approval application for train-path usage fees for the 2023/2024 working timetable period at the beginning of October 2022.
