Fleet development

In the first half of 2026, we continued to implement comprehensive measures to improve our vehicle fleet:

• These included the redesign of the interior, the installation of passenger information and video recording systems, WiFi and new paintwork. A total of 131 vehicles were retrofitted and modernized, primarily on the Stuttgart S-Bahn (metro), Cologne S-Bahn (metro) and North-South 2 which connects Berlin with its northern and southern suburbs.
• Another focus is on the procurement of new vehicles for awarded transport contracts. In the first half of 2026, four vehicles were delivered for the Mitteldeutschland S-Bahn (metro) network under a sale and leaseback arrangement.
