Diversity
In the first half of 2026, DB Group systematically pressed ahead with its efforts to promote diversity and equal opportunity.
- In March 2026, the focus was on International Women’s Month, through which DB Group aims to specifically increase the visibility of women and help attract skilled female employees and executives. The perception of DB Group as a diverse employer was further strengthened through recruitment initiatives, networking events and communication campaigns. This was also reflected in a positive trend in job offers to women, as well as increased visibility of the issue of gender equality among the relevant target groups.
- DB Group remains committed to increasing the share of women in leadership positions. Even during the Group transformation, the share of women in leadership positions at the companies affected by the Second Act on Equal Participation of Men and Women in Management Positions (Zweites Führungspositionen-Gesetz; FüPoG II) at the Supervisory Board, Management Board / Executive Board and first and second management levels increased to 31.7 % as of June 30, 2026. The aim is to increase the share of women at these management levels to 40 % by 2035.
- The progress made in the areas of diversity and equal opportunity was again recognized externally: for the fourth consecutive year, DB Group took first place in the “FKi Inclusion for Excellence” awards. The index measures the progression of women’s careers and provides key metrics on diversity, new leadership and transformation.
- In May 2026, DB Group participated in the Ehrentag, a day of nationwide voluntary work that was launched for the first time by the Federal President and the German Foundation for Engagement and Social Cohesion as a means of strengthening social commitment. Under the DB slogan “Mobility connects – volunteering makes a difference,” employees were encouraged to get involved in a wide range of initiatives to promote social cohesion. The Ehrentag recognized the employees’ volunteer work and raised awareness of it both within DB Group and among the general public. This was complemented by initiatives from the Deutsche Bahn Foundation to further support and raise awareness of this commitment.
