- DB JobService: DB JobService GmbH’s development in the first half of 2026 was largely characterized by its support for Group companies in the context of the Group transformation. A key focal point in this regard was support for workforce reduction measures at DB Vehicle Maintenance and DB Systel. In addition, preparatory measures relating to structural adjustments in the area of Group management were implemented. In parallel, there was close cooperation and comprehensive support for the transformation of DB Cargo AG. At the same time, efforts to internally reassign employees as part of the Group’s “Job Restart” program were further intensified with the aim of creating sustainable employment opportunities within DB Group.
- DB Rail Construction: As part of the quality initiative for the German rail network, DB Rail Construction is continuing to expand its capacity and is making ongoing capital expenditures to improve the reliability of its machinery. In the first half of 2026, for example, it commissioned a new hybrid tamping machine, placed an order for another high-performance milling machine, and took over a maintenance facility from DB Cargo so that it can carry out a large portion of the growing volume of repair work relating to its machinery in-house.
- DB Engineering & Consulting (DB E&C):
- Drone-based laser scanning: Work is continuing on the development of a drone-based laser scanning system for digital aerial track surveying. The use of this new measuring tool will help to reduce disruptions to rail operations during geodetic surveys in the future. This is particularly relevant for the preparation of corridor modernizations.
- Mumbai — Ahmedabad high-speed line in India: DB E&C has been awarded a contract by the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) as part of the Mumbai — Ahmedabad high-speed rail project. The scope of services includes project management consulting for signaling and telecommunications systems, SCADA and the ticketing system.
- High-speed lines in Vietnam: DB E&C is supporting Vinspeed Joint Stock Company as the general engineering consultant for Vietnam’s first high-speed rail project. DB E&C’s scope of services includes system services, technical inspections, interface management, system integration as well as testing and commissioning. The project began for DB E&C in March 2026.
- DB International Operations (DB IO):
- Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) in India: In February 2026, the final section of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) between New Delhi and Meerut began operations. As of June 30, 2026, the operating company DB RRTS had more than 1,100 employees.
- High-speed network in Egypt: In April 2026, implementation of the transport contract for Egypt’s first high-speed network began. The 15-year contract was signed in November 2025 by the joint venture DB-ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC for Rail Operations (DB EE). Under the contract, DB EE is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the high-speed rail network. The planned rail network is expected to cover about 2,000 km and connect more than 60 stations.
